Ecumenical Recap: “It’s All About Love: A Festival for the Jesus Movement”
The Episcopal Church’s festival, “It’s All About Love: A Festival for the Jesus Movement,” took place in Baltimore July 9-12. The Shoulder to Shoulder campaign held a mini version of its “Faith Over Fear” training, which it is expanding to new venues (one was also held at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in August). Their training session at “It’s All About Love” featured lively conversations focused on implicit biases about Muslim communities that remain entrenched in many corners of the church.
Salmoon Bashir, who serves as curate for Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations at the Cathedral of St. Philip, presented his workshop on “Christian Witness in a Multireligious and Multicultural World.” With around 40 people in attendance, this workshop charted a bold future for linking Scripture, evangelism, and an interfaith heart in the endeavor to pursue reconciliation across lines of religious difference.
